Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Sweden's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.0% compared to 2020, reaching 62.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Sweden ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 18.9% (from 52.6% in 2016).
