Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 5.2% compared to 2020, reaching 34.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Austria ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.8% (from 33.4% in 2016).
