Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.9% compared to 2022, reaching 38.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 45.4%.

Italy ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 14.7% (from 33.9% in 2018).
