Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 3.2% compared to 2023, reaching 43.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 25.2%.

Austria ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 27.2% (from 33.8% in 2019).
