Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.5% compared to 2023, reaching 22.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 25.2%.

Germany ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 30.2% (from 17.3% in 2019).
