At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 9.7% compared to 2020, reaching 34.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Bulgaria ranks 4th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 42.4% (from 24.3% in 2016).
