Fertility indicators

In 1990, Bulgaria's fertility indicators decreased by 4.2% compared to 1989, reaching 1.82.

Bulgaria ranks 12th out of 23 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.6% (from 1.97 in 1985).
