Fertility indicators

In 1989, Bulgaria's fertility indicators decreased by 3.6% compared to 1988, reaching 1.90.

Bulgaria ranks 9th out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 5.5% (from 2.01 in 1984).
