Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 5.6% compared to 2022, reaching 8.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 11.0%.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.2% (from 8.1% in 2018).
