Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 1.3% compared to 2023, reaching 8.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 11.2%.

Bulgaria ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.9% (from 7.9% in 2019).
