In 2020, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 14.2% compared to 2019, reaching 5,344.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 55.6% (from 12,035 in 2015).
