Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Cyprus's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 15.4% compared to 2008, reaching 5.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 13.9%.

Cyprus ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 92.8% (from 3.1% in 2004).
