Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Cyprus's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 2.9% compared to 2020, reaching 7.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.1%.

Cyprus ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 169.2% (from 2.7% in 2016).
