Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Estonia's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 3.2% compared to 2020, reaching 29.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.8%.

Estonia ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 80.3% (from 16.2% in 2016).
