Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 25.9% compared to 2020, reaching 33.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.8%.

Netherlands ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 164.9% (from 12.6% in 2016).
