Population structure indicators at national level

In 2009, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 0.6% compared to 2008, reaching 33.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 41.0.

Ireland ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.9% (from 33.3 in 2004).
