Population structure indicators at national level

In 2021, Ireland's population structure indicators at national level increased by 1.6% compared to 2020, reaching 24.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 35.4.

Ireland ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 11.7% (from 22.3 in 2016).
