In 2021, Ireland's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 22.9% compared to 2020, reaching 8,394.

Ireland ranks 14th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 53.6% (from 18,082 in 2016).
