Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 6.8% compared to 2009, reaching 20.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.3%.

Italy ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 23.3% (from 16.3% in 2005).
