Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 3.1% compared to 2018, reaching 35.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 34.1%.

Italy ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.6% (from 33.4% in 2014).
