Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 22.9% compared to 2009, reaching 4.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 5.5%.

Italy ranks 11th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 369.1% (from 1.0% in 2005).
