Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Luxembourg's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.3% compared to 2008, reaching 2.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 13.9%.

Luxembourg ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 225.8% (from 0.9% in 2004).
