At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.6% compared to 2020, reaching 18.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.5%.

Malta ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.1% (from 16.5% in 2016).
