Population structure indicators at national level

In 2008, Malta's population structure indicators at national level increased by 0.8% compared to 2007, reaching 39.3.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 40.6.

Malta ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.1% (from 37.4 in 2003).
