Population structure indicators at national level

In 2009, Malta's population structure indicators at national level increased by 0.5% compared to 2008, reaching 39.5.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 41.0.

Malta ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.8% (from 37.7 in 2004).
