Population structure indicators at national level

In 2021, Malta's population structure indicators at national level increased by 2.1% compared to 2020, reaching 28.8.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 35.4.

Malta ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.4% (from 29.5 in 2016).
