Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2024, Malta's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group decreased by 6.8% compared to 2023, reaching 69.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 68.4%.

Malta ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.8% (from 79.8% in 2019).
