Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 6.1% compared to 2022, reaching 10.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 45.4%.

Malta ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 39.3% (from 7.7% in 2018).
