In 2020, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 18.4% compared to 2019, reaching 1,036.

Malta ranks 23rd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.5% (from 1,041 in 2015).
