Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 6.3% compared to 2020, reaching 13.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Netherlands ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 124.4% (from 5.8% in 2016).
