Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 14.9% compared to 2015, reaching 4.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.2%.

Netherlands ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.1% (from 5.1% in 2011).
