Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Portugal's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 11.2% compared to 2020, reaching 8.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.1%.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 12.6% (from 7.6% in 2016).
