At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 8.7% compared to 2023, reaching 19.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.9%.

Romania ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 23.7% (from 24.9% in 2019).
