Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2022, Romania's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 0.1% compared to 2021, reaching 8.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.6%.

Romania ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 36.1% (from 6.6% in 2017).
