Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Romania's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 6.0% compared to 2022, reaching 8.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 11.0%.

Romania ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 32.3% (from 6.3% in 2018).
