Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Romania's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 0.1% compared to 2023, reaching 8.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 11.2%.

Romania ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 7.0% (from 7.8% in 2019).
