In 2020, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 11.7% compared to 2019, reaching 25,741.

Romania ranks 10th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.9% (from 29,562 in 2015).
