Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 7.2% compared to 2020, reaching 18.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Italy ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.5% (from 17.4% in 2016).
