At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 5.1% compared to 2023, reaching 20.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.5%.

Bulgaria ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.5% (from 20.9% in 2019).
