At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 0.6% compared to 2023, reaching 17.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.5%.

Italy ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.3% (from 19.3% in 2019).
