In 2018, Bulgaria's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 9.8% compared to 2017, reaching 36,922.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 18.4% (from 45,256 in 2013).
