Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Bulgaria's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.3% compared to 2023, reaching 74.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.3%.

Bulgaria ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.4% (from 74.4% in 2019).
