Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Bulgaria's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.1% compared to 2024, reaching 74.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.4%.

Bulgaria ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.8% (from 72.9% in 2020).
