In 1989, Sweden's fertility indicators increased by 2.6% compared to 1988, reaching 2.01.

Sweden ranks 7th out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 21.1% (from 1.66 in 1984).
