Persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex

In 2025, Bulgaria's persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex decreased by 4.3% compared to 2024, reaching 29.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 20.9%.

Bulgaria ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.4% (from 33.5% in 2020).
