Persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex

In 2024, Bulgaria's persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex increased by 1.0% compared to 2023, reaching 30.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 21.0%.

Bulgaria ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.7% (from 33.2% in 2019).
