Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 13.3% compared to 2009, reaching 12.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.3%.

Bulgaria ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 42.6% (from 8.7% in 2005).
