Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 16.8% compared to 2020, reaching 19.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Bulgaria ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.4% (from 18.8% in 2016).
