Persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex

In 2024, Cyprus's persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex decreased by 1.7% compared to 2023, reaching 17.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.0%.

Cyprus ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.5% (from 18.9% in 2019).
