In 2024, Spain's persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion by age and sex decreased by 2.6% compared to 2023, reaching 25.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 21.0%.

Spain ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.5% (from 26.2% in 2019).
